I'm Ms. Noland, your Library Media Specialist. I am new to Guilford County Schools, having previously worked as a Media Coordinator in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. I also serve as the current state chair for the Middle School Battle of the Books committee. I'm excited to join the Lincoln HIVE!
I was born and raised in Virginia (go Hoos!), and attended Dartmouth College as an undergrad (B.A. in English & Creative Writing, minor in Government). I have a Master's in Library & Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and my School Library Media licensure from UNCG.
My favorite books as a middle grade reader were The Westing Game, A Wrinkle in Time, and The Witch of Blackbird Pond. Some recent middle school books/series I've loved as an adult reader are: The Door of No Return series by Kwame Alexander; the Merci Suarez series by Meg Medina; and When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead.
I live with my family in Winston-Salem. When I'm not at work or ferrying my kids around, I enjoy reading (of course!), running, swimming, sewing, and falling asleep in front of the TV.
